This is my most recent piece, and my favorite so far. Crescendo is 34” x 34” (86 x 86 cm) with nine different colors in satin and other fabrics, and a border of black panne velvet. This is the first one I’ve made that is stretched, rather than hanging.
The title really says it all. In Crescendo my sense of color has broken free from linear progressions and dared dance with difference internally. The contrasts mingle and lift into a golden bright center supported by a fuller chiaroscuro effect that sings a more triumphant ‘O Fortuna’ in the theater of my soul.
